Places of Interest

We have put together a list of places we have personally visited on our own skis, just ask a member of staff to point you in the right direction.

Heading out left of the bay:

Margate pleasure beach, Please note: This is a pleasure beach and jet skis are not permitted within 200 metres of the beach.

Margate harbour has a strict 5 knot speed limit, please ride your skis with extreme caution near Margate and be aware of swimmers and young persons in inflatable crafts.

At Margate you will notice a huge high rise block of flats, At low tide head off shore keeping the flats directly behind you for approximately 2.5 miles you will then discover another sandbank. If you don’t go anywhere else you must visit here and marvel at the seal colony that basks in the sun on this sandbank in the middle of the sea.
On a nice day there is nothing better than a group of skis with passengers anchoring off this sandbank and playing a game of cricket in the middle of the sea, it’s worth doing just to tell the story down the pub afterwards.

Further round to the left you have Seasalter, Herne Bay, This is the huge wind farm and various other offshore forts and gun turrets to keep you occupied for days.

Heading straight out to sea:

Approximately 11.5 miles visit the remains of a World War II fort heavily damaged by a storm in the early 90’s, only the concrete super structure now remains, in our opinion a creepy place to visit!!!

A choice of very large cargo ships anchor up approximately 3 miles offshore, these are static position markers to race flat out to, and back to shore.
(Please note: You are required by law to not approach within 50m of a vessel at anchor).

Heading out right of the bay:

Historical Ramsgate harbour, (harbour license required), 5 knot speed limit.

Joss Bay, Even on the calmest of days you’re in for a white knuckle ride!!! 2 coastal tides meet at Joss bay creating some of the biggest waves and choppiest water you will find. Not for the faint hearted!!!

Goodwin Sands, at low tide you can be over a mile offshore and moor up on your very own island in the sea!!!
